Look what the mail delivered
I am was having an "off day" but this has certainly picked up my spirits.
It is a gift from KimM who is sending RAKs to friends in celebration of her birthday....
A lovely hand written note, pretty fabric with threads, a Swarovski crystal scissor fob, and a beautifully painted Limoges needle case. Wow is all that I can say. Thank you so very much for choosing me as one of your RAK recipients. You have made my day much nicer and the fob is already on my current project scissors....Thank you dear friend.

Fabric giveaway
A few weeks ago I bought a grab bag of fabric. It was 'pot luck' and I know I am not going to use some of the pieces I received. Each is approx 20x30cm, probably slightly more. I made them into two sets: (A) red, white and blue and (B) games.
You are welcome to either or both of them if you like. Just leave a message here. If more than one is interested I will draw a name from the hat on May 25.
Thank you!Thursday, March 17, 2016

A Birthday Giveaway!
Back on the first day of the new year, as you do, you make resolutions, goals.......and challenges......and one of the many I made was.......
It's the first day of the new year and, as you do, I'm issuing a challenge, mostly to me, but feel free to join in! I've felt for a long time that I wasn't upholding the spirit of the blog that Evalina kindly set up for us......apart from one small gift that I sent when I joined the group, I've done nothing, so......I'm challenging myself to a monthly "something".......not always stitched (but might be), a drawing (definitely possible) or maybe the odd small parcel of DMC threads to someone who can't buy them as inexpensively as we can here in the US. So, keep an eye out, a small parcel will be flying somewhere from Michigan each month!
......today's is my birthday which seems appropriate but more importantly.......yikes, it's nearly the end of the month so....without more ado here is the first of my monthly somethings and it's in two parts, depending on where you live!
Two giveaways - one for the US and one for the rest of the world!
For the US only
Two copies of Jane Greenoff's magazine from the Cross Stitch Guild, based in the UK. I have had a couple of double mailings in the last couple of years so would like to give two away. The one on the left has a couple of nice Christmas ornaments in as well as a biscornu pattern. The one on the right has a small sewing set of a needlebook, a biscornu and a fob. I don't think Jane is as well known here as in the UK, she is a lovely lady, I have met her a couple of times at Harrogate. The magazine is small, only about 6" x 8", but after reading it, you might decide to join the guild!
For the rest of the world
Twenty skeins of DMC - colours chosen by the winner
Please leave a comment under this post if you'd like to take part, mentioning for which one you are eligible. I'll draw a name on February 5th......another anniversary, lol, the day the WT proposed!

Happy New Year to all!
The New Year is a time for new hopes, aspirations, dreams and wishes. I hope all of yours come true.
2015 wasn't very friendly with me, I think I hit rock bottom in all aspects of my life and now I have no other way to go but climb up. So, once again, I set my sails for happiness and success and I'm starting my journey right here. Thank you Jax for the lovely ornie. I placed mine on my lamp that I'm using for stitching so I can see it all the time and it reminds me that we are not alone, that there is someone somewhere that thinks of me.
I love Gillie idea of monthly RAKs. Thank you my dear.
love and hugs to all,
Evalina

And a surprise for me too!
I got one of Jacquie's treats, a cheery little snowman, who definitely brightened my day. Over Christmas he was hung near the sink to bring a smile to my face each day. Thank you, Jacquie!

A Lovely Surprise
This is the very first time I've received a surprise and I'm so happy. What a nice ornament. Thank you so much Jacquie. So thoughtful and kind of you. Great job as well. Merry Christmas.
A big thank you to Jacquie
Thank you Jacquie,
Your RAK came in the mail today it is such an unexpected surprise
Your sweet little ornament is so adorable and I just love the stitching, I happen to collect Snowmen so you can imagine how thrilled I was to get it.
I love the stitching detail on the carrot nose, the little stars and his sweet smile
Even the fabric on the back makes me smile
Thank you again Jacquie this was so sweet of you to think of me.
