A Birthday Giveaway!
Back on the first day of the new year, as you do, you make resolutions, goals.......and challenges......and one of the many I made was.......
It's the first day of the new year and, as you do, I'm issuing a challenge, mostly to me, but feel free to join in! I've felt for a long time that I wasn't upholding the spirit of the blog that Evalina kindly set up for us......apart from one small gift that I sent when I joined the group, I've done nothing, so......I'm challenging myself to a monthly "something".......not always stitched (but might be), a drawing (definitely possible) or maybe the odd small parcel of DMC threads to someone who can't buy them as inexpensively as we can here in the US. So, keep an eye out, a small parcel will be flying somewhere from Michigan each month!
......today's is my birthday which seems appropriate but more importantly.......yikes, it's nearly the end of the month so....without more ado here is the first of my monthly somethings and it's in two parts, depending on where you live!
Two giveaways - one for the US and one for the rest of the world!
For the US only
Two copies of Jane Greenoff's magazine from the Cross Stitch Guild, based in the UK. I have had a couple of double mailings in the last couple of years so would like to give two away. The one on the left has a couple of nice Christmas ornaments in as well as a biscornu pattern. The one on the right has a small sewing set of a needlebook, a biscornu and a fob. I don't think Jane is as well known here as in the UK, she is a lovely lady, I have met her a couple of times at Harrogate. The magazine is small, only about 6" x 8", but after reading it, you might decide to join the guild!
For the rest of the world
Twenty skeins of DMC - colours chosen by the winner
Please leave a comment under this post if you'd like to take part, mentioning for which one you are eligible. I'll draw a name on February 5th......another anniversary, lol, the day the WT proposed!

Happy New Year to all!
2015 wasn't very friendly with me, I think I hit rock bottom in all aspects of my life and now I have no other way to go but climb up. So, once again, I set my sails for happiness and success and I'm starting my journey right here. Thank you Jax for the lovely ornie. I placed mine on my lamp that I'm using for stitching so I can see it all the time and it reminds me that we are not alone, that there is someone somewhere that thinks of me.
I love Gillie idea of monthly RAKs. Thank you my dear.
love and hugs to all,
Evalina

And a surprise for me too!
I got one of Jacquie's treats, a cheery little snowman, who definitely brightened my day. Over Christmas he was hung near the sink to bring a smile to my face each day. Thank you, Jacquie!

Greetings from a New Member
Thank you for letting me join your blog group! My name is Sharon and I'm really excited about getting acquainted and participating in the RAKs which I have been interested in doing for a long time. I've been away from the online stitching community for several years but am looking forward to easing back in as my circumstances have once again taken a turn. (Funny how life never seems to go the way we think it will or should.) I'm owned by a cat, six dogs and four aquariums of fish. I live in a semi-rural community on the edge of Oklahoma City and commute to work near downtown OKC. I enjoy stitching, cross stitch designing and collecting stitchy stuff, especially embroidery scissors, cross stitch charts, fabric and fibers. My blog can be found here (xstitchhappy.net) - I hope you will stop by and look around and please leave a comment so I can visit you in return.

Hi All,
Thank you so much for including me in this blog! My name is Stephanie and my personal blog is bluestarstitcher.com I have been stitching over 24 years now (wow that seems like a long time but its gone by so quick!) Stitching is my passion, and I stitch a pretty wide variety of designers/themes. I also dabble in quilting, painting/drawing, paper cutting, gardening, yoga/running/hiking (not well and not fast but that's not what counts). I am a mom of three, with three dogs 1 bird and 1 bunny, so our house stays pretty busy! I do enjoy blogging though, and getting a peek into other stitcher's lives around the world, and getting to enjoy everyone else's stitching. Above is one of my more recent finishes, and below is a photo of me and my girls.

Hello From A New Member
Hi everyone I am Kimberly I live in Upstate NY. I am the mother of 7 grown children and 15 grandchildren biologically and 9 step grands. I am furmom to many kitty's!I have been cross stitching since 1994 I am self taught I picked up a stamped kit in Micheal's one day and did it and loved it. I progressed to a large crib quilted blanket for my daughter that was on the way I was on complete bed rest for the last 4 months of my pregnancy she was determined to come into the world early and I was extremely bored so I learned something new. I later progressed and bought a counted cross stitch kit I taught myself and loved it so much I later grew my interests and bought many more kits and patterns. Life took a u turn on us we escaped a very abusive marriage and the children and I escaped with a few suitcases and a few boxes of things many of which the bus company lost and never compensated us for. I was saddened I lost all my stitchy things, and all my clothes but I was also happy we all were safe and healthy and still had our lives. I got divorced in 2005 after moving back to NY from FL in 2002 I was finally free and I went to college and got a dual law degree both associates in Criminal Law and Paralegal. I lost total interest in my stitching after losing it all but God sent an angel in my life I met a wonderful man i 2009 we got very close and he saw a picture I had in my email of one of my projects he asked you did this I said yes he said you have talent I said I do? I said thank you he said make me something I said I have nothing left. We went the following day and we picked out a couple of kits from the Gold Collection one was a Behjing Tiger I think that's the exact name but I stitched it for him and I got my confidence back and there is no stopping me now!!! I found online Yahoo Groups and joined them and found many friendships and found even more confidence, I even started my own Yahoo Group Sisters_Stitching_Sharing_Life its been going strong for a few years now our group is very close and we have a tight bond. I have been growing my stash lately thanks to enablers in my group and from the ladies on the 123MB. I will be making a wishlist on my blog within the next week or so I have a wishlist on the 123 MB kimanncurry@yahoo.com is the name to access it. I love scissor fobs, needle books, needle minders, q snap covers, anything anyone would like to make me! I appreciate anything that comes from the heart and I will make it my point to send to someone also! Thank you so much for having me and I am sorry for rambling I just wanted you all to know a little about me!!! My blog address is grannystitches2010.blogspot.com
